He was born Simon Oliver Sinek in Wimbledon, London, United Kingdom, on October 9th, 1973. 

As a child, he and his family lived in Johannesburg, South Africa, Hong Kong, and London before moving and settling is currently based in New York City in the United States of America.

He attended and graduated from London City University, where he earned a degree in law.

He received a degree in cultural anthropology from Brandeis University in Massachusetts and a master’s degree in business administration from INSEAD in France.

Career

Sinek has had a career in advertising, working with reputed agencies such as Ogilvy Mather and Havas Creative (then known as Euro RSCG) before launching his firm in 2002, Sinek Partners. 

He is an instructor at Columbia University in Strategic Communications.

Simon is also a motivational speaker at the UN Global Compact Leaders Summit and over 25 TEDx Talks worldwide.  

As an anthropologist by training, Simon is interested in the practices and people that create the most significant changes in their fields and beyond. Through his research and experience, he has discovered fascinating commonalities in how high-performing teams think, behave, and communicate.
