Credos

When asked about his philosophy of life, Dyer said:

I believe truth is the truth until it is organized, at which point it is false. Instead of Christianity, I believe that Jesus taught compassion, care, concern, and peace. Don’t try to be a Christian; instead, try to be Christ-like. Be like the Buddha, not a Buddhist.

Orthodoxy, regulations, and historical scriptures have been the backbone of every major world religion for millennia. They are taught from a young age to follow the tenets of that faith and never question its tenets or practices. They are externally imposed norms and standards, which I do not consider part of spiritual life.

Death

Despite being diagnosed with leukemia in 2009, Dyer died of a heart attack on August 30, 2015, in Maui, Hawaii, at 75, according to his spokeswoman Lindsay McGinty.
